If anyone wants to become a good dancer, it is absulutely crucial to go social dancing. First, you practice what you learn during the dance classes at the differeent dance places. And this is how you improve your dancing - by practicing. And what is better than practicing it with the new people, who are very often on the same level as you. So, you can help each other. Besides, you get to dance with better dancers than you, and that will improve your dancing even more. Second, you can dance with many patners, which for boys means better leader skills, and for girls - better follower skills. Finally, you just cannot imagine how much fun it can be, and it does not usually cost much, i.e. $6 - $10, and you have a blast.

OK, there are many places, where you could go and dance socially:

1. Chavy Chase Ballroom "College Nite" - many people, i.e. college kids, have a party where they dance all the ballroom dances of both Latin and Standard styles. Everyone is friendly and nice.
